The UPs n' DOWNs

Hi again everybody!

Taking some time off work, I decided to visit my son in Kuala Lumpur for Easter. Boy, did I have a enjoyable time. Good food, and a wonderful shopping experience; I sure can’t wait to retire in August this year, and trust me; there’ll be many more of these to come then. Hehehe…

On a sad note, the parish priest of the church that I attend, St Henry’s Church has just passed away. The late Father Simon Wong breathed his last on Friday, April 17 2009. This really tells us a little story about how fragile life is; the fact is that we do not know when we will be “called back home”. I also feel sad that I could not wish him Happy Easter the week before, and now it’s too late.

This is why, in a way, I feel it is good that I retire from work at this point, so that I get the opportunity to do the things I really wanted to do all this while before my hourglass empties out. Anyway, Father Simon Wong was indeed a good man who served his cause well. May God rest his soul.

Will be back again soon with more on the happenings in the school. Have a good week ahead!

Nice pictures... nice feelings...

Believe it or not, these pictures of the flowers found in our school compound were taken by my 5 Arts 1 and 5 Arts 2 students, using my VERY OWN Olympus u710 Camera...

It feels great to be able to help these students in their preparation for their art paper. What's better is the feeling that the students are trying their best, sincerely, to do well in whatever they've set out to do. They are even willing to approach their principal (of all people) for help, and that's some effort that has earned my respect.

Having said that, I do hope all students will feel comfortable in approaching their teachers if they need help in their studies. As the saying goes, students don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.

These students may not able to pass all subjects, but my hope is that they will be able to pass a few, with our guidance. Hey, anyway, miracles can happen, right?

By the way, our flowers are nice too... right?
